We are facing unprecedented financial distress due to Covid-19 and the loss of income for many of our families. Your donations in this campaign help with two things: 1. Pay our hardworking teachers who have been doing everything they can to support our students during this crisis (online, through whats app, and through phone calls). 2. Support our increasing need for scholarships due to economic distress in Panajachel.
The economy of Panajachel, Guatemala is grounded in tourism. With the closures of borders throughout the world, our community has been hit hard by the covid-19 crisis. Our teachers are still working day and night in order to support our students--but our financial situation is dire. This project will help us to: 1. Pay our teachers for their work supporting our students. 2. Help our scholarship students continue to go to school.
$10000 USD is enough to pay our teachers salaries and to help a few of our students who are in the most need. It can get us through another month of work with our staff.
This project will help us keep Panajachel Colegio Internacional (our project school) open and supporting our students after the crisis is over.
