First off, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your support of our initiative to keep the children in our feeding program, and their families, from going hungry during the COVID-19 pandemic! What we've been able to accomplish is thanks to you, and all of our faithful supporters, for truly believing in our mission to offer hope to the youth in Bienvenido. Thank you!
During August we were able to provide support for 155 families which exceeded our goal! September and October were slightly under this, with 136 and 131 families, but still impactful for every family that received care.
In November, we pivoted our efforts to address hunger in Bienvenido yet again. We returned to preparing food in our project's kitchen, but rather than inviting the children in to eat, sent them each home with a boxed lunch. During the month of November a total of 3,101 meals were prepared, and between the 1-15 of December, 1,518 meals. We also began providing breakfast for the children who are part of our school scholarship program, as learning on a full stomach makes a huge difference in the child's ability to focus and succeed in their studies.
Going forward, we've decided to no longer create quarterly micro-projects to specifically support our COVID-19 inititatives. The way our project is now operating has become our new normal, and as such, we will continue to support the community, as we always have, given the current pandemic restrictions. We still have a need to increase our monthly financial support in order to amplify our impact, but will now encourage individuals to give through the main The Bienvenido Project page to help us meet our monthly goals.
Gracias!
