All schools in Sierra Leone have closed due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. In Sierra Leone, the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education is providing classes through radio broadcasts to help children continue their school work at home and progress educationally. Unfortunately, hundreds of families do not own a radio or are not able to afford the on-going cost of batteries.
This project will provide radios and batteries so that kids can participate in the radio learning program. Having a radio will help them keep pace with classwork that they are missing out on. This will help ensure that they progress academically during these unprecedented times.
Students will be able to continue their education from home. This will help ensure that they do not miss out on the radio program learning opportunity.
