Project Report | Jan 21, 2020
Lights, Camera, Cook!

By Madie Sturgess | Project Manager

Happy New Year to our wonderful supporters!

We're delighted to announce that we have raised the funds necessary to film and produce a mini visual series documenting our electric cooking study in southern Haiti!

Although the total funds needed were not reached via GlobalGiving alone, it would not have been possible to reach our target without every GlobalGiving supporter, including you!

Impressed by the enthusiastic efforts and grassroots generosity of the Haitian diaspora and other wonderful donors to our GlobalGiving project, our cooking study sponsor, Modern Electric Cooking Services, agreed to donate the remaining funds needed to get our visual series off the ground!

Filming has begun as we prepare to implement the study in 30 homes and businesses in Les Anglais. Once the 3-month study has ended we hope to film some follow up interviews with the study participants before editing and launching 3-5 short videos in mid 2020.

While the GlobalGiving project platform for our docu-series has ended, you can still follow our progress and get the latest updates on electric cooking and energy access in Haiti by joining our mailing list. We don't want you to miss the series release!

Once again, thank you for your generosity as we aim to uncover not only the valuable field data needed to solve accessible electric cooking for all, but to also tell the stories of real communities seeking a transition to a cleaner, healthier and more affordable future.

Gratefully,

Madie Sturgess and the EarthSpark team.
