By Maggie Kelley | Development Manager, JA of Northern California
While the funding goal to provide this program was not met through the Microprojects website, JA NorCal was able to raise funds offline so this important opportunity was still made available to local students. On November 1, 2012, the KPMG office in San Francisco hosted 27 students from three San Francisco high schools for a “Consultants for a Day” themed JA Job Shadow™. The event featured a mini case study and interactive activities. JA NorCal has found that programs have a particularly profound impact on at-risk youth and in under-privileged communities, and therefore targets schools and communities where JA programs will have the largest impact.
