Hundreds of kids in Cameroon come from low-income families where they do not have access to computers or computer training. Many of them have never even seen a computer. This project will change this by purchasing new computers and providing access to computer training at the CAPEC school. This will provide to them the crucial foundation in computer skills that they need as they advance their education.
Kids in the Bitame Lucia School community from homes that do not have computers. Some of them are the first in their families to go to school. Without access to computer training at school, they will graduate with no computer skills. This puts them at a huge disadvantage later in life as computer proficiency is vital to success. It is essential that they start developing computer proficiency bright and early.
Funds from this project will purchase new computers so that children in and around the community will benefit from free computer training. Access to an updated computer lab will enable the kids to become computer proficient. This skill will help prepare them for future success. During summer holiday program, our volunteers will help train the teachers to continue the computer training classes.
