This micro-project solves a critical safety crisis caused by the collapse of an old compound wall at a Children's Home. The damage currently leaves 40 vulnerable girls dangerously exposed to intruders and stray animals, compromising their sanctuary. Additionally, the breach worsens drainage, causing severe flooding that threatens the home's hygiene and structure. With just $1,700, we will immediately construct a permanent compound wall to restore their safety.
This micro-project will enable the completion of a robust new compound wall: 600 feet long, 8 feet high, and 9 inches thick, built on a deep, stable foundation. To ensure maximum strength and longevity against adverse weather, the wall is being constructed using high-quality reinforced cement mortar and steel rods. This immediate structural improvement will secure the facility, protecting the girls' physical safety from intruders while effectively mitigating the threat of severe flooding.
The robust construction of this wall ensures a permanent improvement to the facility's infrastructure, guaranteeing safety and security for the girls for years to come. A secure environment is fundamental to their well-being, growth, and healing, allowing BASS to fulfill its mission of providing quality education and opportunities. Furthermore, the project's sustainability is assured, as the girls' daily care, operational costs are secured through our collaboration with a Belgian partner Org.
