Project Closing Report: Complete the Safety Wall for the Children's Home

By Joseph Anthony A Chukka | Project Leader

Dear Generous Donors and Supporters, Namste

Greetings from BASS, India! We are delighted to share a wonderful update and present our final project closing report for our micro-project, "Complete the Safety Wall for the Children's Home." Over the three-month project period, through the kindness of 8 compassionate donors, we successfully raised $622 USD toward our initial goal of $2,200 USD.

Although our micro-project reached its 90-day duration before hitting the full fundraising target, ensuring the immediate safety and dignity of the 40 adolescent girls living in our home remained our top priority. We could not leave the broken back section of the wall exposed to potential intruders, stray animals, or heavy rain flooding.

To complete this critical protection, we combined the $622 USD raised on GlobalGiving with additional local donations and organizational support. With these pooled resources, we purchased all necessary compound wall construction materials—including cement, steel, bricks, and gravel—and hired skilled labour to reconstruct the remaining 200 feet of the boundary wall.

Key Project Achievements:

100% Completed Wall: The entire 600-foot perimeter wall is now fully constructed, reinforced, and locked behind a strong main security gate.

Complete Protection: The 40 adolescent girls are now completely safe from outside threats, trespassers, and stray animals.

Permanent Drainage Solution: Rebuilding the back wall permanently resolved severe rainwater drainage issues, keeping the Children's Home clean, safe, and dry during heavy monsoon rains.

Thank You So Much!

We express our deepest, most sincere gratitude to our 8 generous donors. Your early contributions provided the essential seed funding and momentum needed to start construction and successfully finish this project. Because of your love and commitment, 40 young girls can now sleep, study, and play in a secure, loving environment without fear.

Please Continue Your Kindness for Our Ongoing Meal Project

Now that our Children's Home is physically safe and secured, our next urgent goal is ensuring these 40 young girls receive wholesome, nutritious food every day for their healthy growth and education. We warmly invite you to continue your support by donating to our ongoing micro-project providing daily hot meals for the girls:

Thank you once again for standing by our children and keeping them safe, healthy, and nourished!

With warm regards and heartfelt gratitude,
