With the funds raised on this project, we were able to provide 10 American domestic violence victims with emergency cell phones so far this year. This enabled these victims to access critical services for themselves and their children while they were fleeing the violence and navigating their way to safety.
Laura in France, Stacy in Brazil, Ebony in Algeria, Beth in India, Jody in Australia, Suny in Italy, Joan in Spain, Haley in Canada, and Rebecca and Cheryl in Mexico.
Cut off from communication with the outside world by their abusers, the phones you provided were literally a lifeline for these victims. They are all safe and back in the USA and you provided a critical component for their escape.
Here is a note from Joan: "I didn't know how in the world I was going to be able to call the American Embassy, my children in the USA and my case manager at AODVC. Without the phone I don't know what I would have done. I can't thank you enough."
We can't thank you enough for supporting American domestic violence victims in crisis in foreign countries!
