This past August, more than 100 children who stutter, speech-language pathologists, graduate students and volunteers gathered on the shores of Big Blue Lake in Holton, MI for an amazing week of laughter, tears, networking, learning and fun.
We would like to take the time to THANK EACH OF YOU for your generous donation to our program. Your donation to the Camp Shout Out Be Our Guest Fund allowed us to open the eyes of kids who stutter and teach them that they can be anything they want to be. We were able to bring a lawyer, fire department captain, and a scientist to camp this year to speak to the campers and their parents.
Just recently we received this email from a high school student who was able to attend Camp Shout Out:
“Camp Shout Out has taught me that I don't need to let my stutter put limitations on what I can do. I've learned that I am very good at giving motivational speeches. Before my experience with Camp Shout Out I never raised my hand in school for fear that somebody would laugh at my stutter, but now, not only do I raise my hand often, I have even volunteered to speak about bullying in front of the entire school."
Stories like this are what keeps each of us working as hard as we can to make a difference in the world for young people who stutter and we COULD NOT do it without YOU.
We are honored by your support of our program and hope you will continue to join us in making the world a better place for young people who stutter.
