We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.
Once a woman or a girl had to face so much problems during her menstruation, also she had to follow some rules of menstrual. Due to hesitation, lack of awareness and funds, today also, some women especially in rural, poor and slum areas use newspapers or dry leaves. It results into infection which they had to face during menstrual which is prone to be affected from several diseases.
To make menstruation safe among women and make them aware, with the financial support of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation, sanitary napkins were distributed in 7 distant villages of Pisangan, Ajmer. More than 500 sanitary napkins were distributed to more than 100 poor women in these 7 distant villages. All women were so happy to get the napkins which they had never used. All of them thanked Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and Global Giving Foundation. Women activists of the organisation have also organised a workshop for awareness in the distribution program. All women were taught how to use these napkins and to keep hygiene during mestruation in the workshop. Women learnt everything they had been taught in the workshop sincerely. At last, one of our woman activists had conversation to one of them; In her words ,
My name is Mumtaz, and I am 32 years old. My husband had no occupation and he does odd jobs. Due to economic instability of our family, I also does labour by which we manage our family. Lack of money doesn't allow me to use sanitary napkin during menstruation and mostly I use piece of cloth or cotton which got infection several times during mestruation. It directly affected my daily routine and several times I couldn't go for labour for 5-6 days because of which I had to run my family in worst economic condition. I would like to thank GlobalGiving Foundation and all the donors who gave me sanitary napkins to make the menstruation safe and secure and also thank to women activists of Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan who made us aware to use these napkins properly. I think that women are getting aware and empowered by the programs run by Global Giving Foundation and Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan.
