With your help, we were able to get Alessandra home and away from her abusive boyfriend in Peru. Alessandra found another place to teach English ouside of Lima. She decided to stay and teach English as she loves the Peruvian culture and people. For a couple of months everything was fine, then her abusive x-boyfriend found her. We were able to raise the balance of the funds needed to get Alessandra home and she arrived last month.
Alessandra is sad that she had to leave Peru. We have arranged counseling for her as she goes through the stages of recovery. She hasn't told her parents yet but feels she may at some point.
