Through this initiative, an educational garden can be set up in three kindergartens in the Concon district, which are attended by 250 children in total. In each space we will build six growing boxes, so childrens will be able to have contact with nature and learn about plants and basic agriculture. In addition, educators will have a new space to support pedagogical work and carry out activities with the community.
During the pandemic, children and teachers stopped attending schools, leaving these places with non maintenance and little activity. In this context, the educational orchards that these public kindergartens had managed to build with much effort were left in a state of abandonment. Today, childrens returned to have classes, and it is necessary to enable outdoor educational spaces that allow contact with nature.
Build educational orchards in three kindergarten schools in Concon, a city of Valparaiso Region, Chile. Through this project it will be possible to enable quality spaces for the development of the children who attend these kindergartens. Workshops will also be held for children and teachers, to learn in community how to care for the environment and natural places.
By setting up orchards in kindergartens, you can contribute to: (1) Improving the educational spaces used by 250 children from Concon. (2) Educational and recreational activities for children from 0 to 4 years old. (3) Pedagogical tools for teachers of three kindergartens. (4) Increase environmental awareness from early childhood and impact on families and society.
