We are so grateful with you, your disinterested support is prove that there still is goodness in this world.
On recent days, exactly on March 26th, Karen´s smile appeared for a moment when GlobalGiving notify us that someone made a donation to make her a prostheses. Her dream was getting closer. Nevertheless, the donations obtained through GlobalGiving were not sufficient to cover the expenses of her prosthesis.
Mahavir Kmina manufactures and donates, free of any charge, prosthetic legs to its beneficiaries. We cover all our expenses through donations that we obtain from several channels. GlobalGiving funds are used to craft prosthetics for children amputees.
Thanks to our donors, we can be able to not only give prostheses, but also smiles and opportunities. Our benefactors might not dimension the huge change they are making in our children’s lives. For that reason, we cannot avoid feeling powerless due to the little support we have received for this microproject.
Anyway, your donation was really helpful and, in fact, it contributed to give to Karen the prosthetic she needed. We have managed to get the missing resources by other means and Karen is now walking again. When she came to Mahavir Kmina, she was very shy to talk to us, but her attendant told us that she dreams of finishing school and doing a university degree. We hope that now, with the help of her prosthesis, she will have more opportunities to make them come true.
Remember that our prostheses are donated free of charge to our beneficiaries, that is why we need your help to continue helping more Colombian amputee children to walk again. Please consider the idea of being a recurring donor of this project.
Thank you very much!
