An audiophone for Manuela
Last year we launched our microproject: A audiophone for Manuela in GlobalGiving's Little By Little campaign. Our goal was to raise $1,200 to buy Manuela a state-of-the-art ear to improve her quality of life and her language and communication skills.
Manuela is a young woman from the Talents Program who lives in the municipality of Apartadó in the department of Antioquia, where she lives with her mother and is strengthening her higher level studies. Currently neither Manuela nor her family have the financial resources to acquire a new hearing aid, since, with the current ear Manuela is not listening very well and this makes her communication and understanding of messages are affected.
We thank all the people who supported Manuela and made her contribution, this type of contribution has a great meaning for the Óyeme Foundation and for their families, in this particular case for Manuela's family, however, we did not manage to meet the goal of $ 1,200 so the money raised will be saved this year to explore other types of aid and options to be able to buy Manuela the ear she needs. If during 2022 we do not manage to get your ear, the money from the donations will be invested in our project Hearing Tests for Child Deafness.
