The team at ConnecTeach needed to expand their donor base and find key advocates. Using strategies from GlobalGiving, they demonstrated ConnecTeach’s commitment to learning and improving. Read their Listen, Act, Learn. Repeat. story below.
In an online GlobalGiving training session, Bhavani learned peer-to-peer giving accounts for 23% of all online donations. ConnecTeach, Inc. decided to strengthen and expand their donor network through establishing a network map and identifying fundraising advocates.
ConnecTeach not only built its network map, but created talking points, crafted sample outreach emails, and practiced GlobalGiving pitches with people in its network. After the team recruited their first two fundraising advocates, they sought their feedback on how to better their team’s network outreach. From the feedback given, they were able to clarify their communications to answer any lingering questions prospective donors might have.
Although slightly overwhelming, the network mapping activity felt exciting to the ConnecTeach team. Using this tool, they learned, “if you take this task piece by piece, it becomes both manageable and highly scalable.”
“We learned that even though there are only two people in the office, we have a much wider circle than we thought!”
— Bhavani, ConnecTeach Project Leader
