GlobalGiving offers a year-round match on new monthly donations. The purpose of this matching offer is to encourage more donors to sign up for ongoing monthly giving, which provides nonprofit partners with a solid ground to stand on and a sustainable source of funds that they can use to plan programs, create budgets, and expand services.
Donors who set up a new monthly donation to a project will have their first donation up to $200 matched at 100%! For example, set up a new $25 monthly donation, and we'll donate an additional $25 to the project one time.
All active projects and microprojects are eligible for this offer. Please note that GlobalGiving cannot extend the 90-day time period for microprojects, so when a microproject expires, monthly donors to it will be asked to transfer their donation to another project.
During the Year-Round Monthly Match, donations up to $200 USD per unique donor per project from donors setting up a new monthly donation will be matched one-time at 100% after four total payments.
Unique donors are determined using numerous criteria, including name, email address, credit card number, mailing address, and IP address. We are monitoring these and other parameters in our system to ensure that only distinct donors are counted.
For the purposes of calculating matching amounts, donations made in other currencies will be converted to USD. The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of the Matching Fund.
Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
Any activity not in the spirit of requesting separate individuals to support donations is being moderated by GlobalGiving and GlobalGiving reserves the right to permanently disqualify organizations for any attempts of misconduct.
Donations made to a project using any of the following methods will count towards your total raised during the Year-Round Monthly Match:

Donations received via any other methods will not count towards your total raised during the Year-Round Monthly Match. Ineligible donation methods include, but are not limited to: individually purchased GlobalGiving Gift Cards, corporate gift cards, physical checks, M-Changa/M-Pesa, cash donations, wire transfers, CAF checks and CAF Online, donations made on a GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving site, and donations made directly to an organization rather than a project
GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations, the nonprofit support fee is 5%; for organizations outside the US and UK, it is 7%. During the Year-Round Monthly Match, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to bonus prizes or matching funds earned. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
