Timeline

• GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund Matching Campaign is possible thanks to a generous $100,000 gift from an anonymous donor.
• The matching campaign will run from 9 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, to midnight EDT on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, or until matching funds run out.
• The campaign is being held in observance of #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving organized as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Matching Funds

• All online donations to GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund up to $10,000 USD will be matched at 100% while funds remain. Donations greater than $10,000 will be matched at a maximum of $10,000 while funds remain. The matching funds are available exclusively to the Fund and are not available for other COVID-19-focused projects on GlobalGiving.
• GlobalGiving’s 100% Monthly Match is also available to donors who set up new monthly recurring donations to the Coronavirus Relief Fund. New monthly donations set up during this campaign will be eligible for both matches: the immediate 100% #GivingTuesdayNow match (up to $10,000 USD) and, as long as the donation remains active for a minimum of four payments, the 100% monthly match (up to $200).
• For the purposes of calculating matching amounts, donations made in other currencies will be converted to USD. The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
• Please note that donations to the #GivingTuesdayNow campaign are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
• GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit organization, which charges a 12% support fee in addition to a standard 3% processing fee to cover the costs we incur to identify, vet, and disburse funds to nonprofits around the world and raise awareness of the Coronavirus Relief Fund. The fee also makes it possible for GlobalGiving to provide our partner organizations with free tools and training, and to maintain and improve our online technology, which makes it safe and easy for you to give to local projects anywhere in the world. • Once you complete your donation, you will receive confirmation of your #GivingTuesdayNow match via an online donation receipt page.

Donation Eligibility + Tax Benefits

• Eligible Donations: Online donations (credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and individually purchased GlobalGiving gift cards) and mobile donations through M-Changa are eligible for the #GivingTuesdayNow matching offer.
• Ineligible Donations: Cash, check, corporate gift card redemptions, CAF check, CAF Online, wire transfers, text-to-give donations, donations made via JustGiving, donations made on a GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving site, or donations made directly to an organization or any other fund or project than GlobalGiving’s Coronavirus Relief Fund.
• Tax Deductibility: GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
