Thank you for your incredible generosity in support of the GlobalGiving Climate Action Fund. Because of you, local leaders and local communities across the world are creating powerful solutions to address the climate crisis.

We believe that the fight against climate change won’t be solved by outside experts imposing solutions. We make real progress by providing flexible funding to local communities who know their lands, waters, and ecosystems best, drawing on generations of traditional knowledge and deep community roots to protect their environments and build sustainable futures.

You Supported Climate Action Where It Matters Most

Thanks to your generous gift, we recently awarded grants from the Climate Action Fund to six vetted organizations advancing community-led climate solutions across multiple continents:

• Alianza de Fondos del Sur Global connects local and regional grantmaking funds across Sub-Saharan Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and Latin America. Their member funds use participatory, culturally appropriate approaches, including grants in local currencies and native languages, to support Indigenous-led adaptation, traditional knowledge preservation, and youth climate leadership in communities often excluded from traditional climate finance.

• Fondo de Mujeres del Sur promotes the rights of women in all their diversity across southern Latin America and beyond. Since 2017, they've mobilized over $10 million in direct support, delivering more than 1,000 grants to women and LGBTQI+ organizations working on environmental defense, territory protection, and climate adaptation.

• Pacific Islands Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (PIANGO) amplifies the voices of civil society across 24 Pacific Island Countries and territories. For more than 30 years, the organization has strengthened local communities and grassroots groups facing existential threats from rising seas and intensifying natural hazards.

• Pan African Climate Justice Alliance brings together more than 1,000 organizations across 50+ African countries. This coalition of grassroots groups, Indigenous communities, farmers, and pastoralists advances climate-resilient agriculture, traditional knowledge preservation, and women's climate leadership across the continent.

• The Samdhana Institute supports Indigenous Peoples and local communities in Southeast Asia to have land rights for their territories and have full recourse to the rule of law. Working with a network of over 100 partners, they focus on "funding the unfundable"—communities that cannot access traditional funding sources.

As we look ahead to a world full of challenges in 2026, we are committed to growing the impact of the GlobalGiving Climate Action Fund.
