This is a plan for a technology training program in Namibia with the Institute of Accounting and Economic Development (IAED). The goal is to provide training in basic computer literacy to the learners of Sarukwe Combined School and the surrounding community. The plan includes a mobile computer training program where laptops are brought to rural schools to conduct workshops. It is important for this program to become well established in the community through responding to the needs of people in the area. Part of this strategy is to establish a semi-permanent classroom in Sarukwe where ongoing training and access to computers/internet can be provided. We would also like to partner with the local government to help with promotion and support of the training program. The purpose of the community engagement plan is to outline a strategy for entering and engaging with the community of Sarukwe in Namibia to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. Since technological competence is becoming more and more relevant in today’s workforce, and since most people do not own a computer, the organization will focus on providing access to basic, intermediate and advanced computer training. In addition, a key focus will be to teach the principles of entrepreneurship and leadership in the lives of Namibians who have historically been subjugated through apartheid and colonization. The end goal is to provide practical skills that can be used to obtain employment or to start a small business.

This fundraiser is not supporting any active projects.
