In recognition of Earth Day, GVI Phang Nga and GVI Chiang Mai will be organising a beach clean-up in Khao Lak, Thailand.

With these litter picks we hope to raise awareness of the following:

1. Trash and plastic pollution is negatively impacting every environment - from the ocean, where it is accidentally consumed by fish and broken down into tiny but deadly microplastics, to the forests, where it can pollute the soil as well as accidentally being eaten by the villager’s elephants.

2. We are ALL responsible for the amount of plastic and other trash that is piling up on this planet. Reducing the amount of single-use plastic we use can help with this problem enormously. Every plastic bag you refuse, or every time you refill your water bottle/coffee cup instead of buying a disposable one, it’s all helpful!//

We would love your support with these litter picks so please get involved by organising your own at home, and fundraising for our conservation projects below, to contribute towards our efforts in marine and coastal conservation and sustainable elephant welfare.
//This global campaign for GVI Charitable Programs aims to raise 10,000USD in total to support on-going long term conservation, carbon reduction and mitigation projects. It is now recognised that we are facing the 6th Mass Extinction and we humans are the cause of it. Donate now to support these conservation efforts.
