Hello! My name is Vikram Krishna. My friend, Kyle Chan, and I are high school students from Hong Kong International School. We have created a musical rendition of Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie’s “We Are The World”, to support families that have been impacted by COVID-19.
With this musical fundraiser, we aim to raise $10,000 USD to support those who have been impacted by COVID-19. All of your donation will be on the ground within a week, making a difference to families all over the world through vetted local organizations. GlobalGiving is on the front lines, providing much needed food, water, and healthcare to communities in need.

Background of the music rendition :
Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie composed and recorded the song, “We are the world” in 1985 to raise awareness and funds for the famine that was ravaging Ethiopia at the time. However, the song is also a call for global solidarity in times of crisis, a message which continues to be applicable today, as the world is devastated by the ongoing epidemic. The lyrics, “We are the world, we are the children. We are the ones who make a brighter day, so let’s start giving”, inspired me to do my bit to support the community through my passion for music. I hope you enjoyed my rendition and that it inspired you to do whatever you can to help as well.
