Hi everyone, I'm off to India for 2 weeks during the Easter break to volunteer with the charity Snehalaya. The charity helps vulnerable women and children from the Ahmednagar district who are affected by HIV and prostitution. There are a range of projects which provide support in health care and education. For more information about Snehalya, have a look at their website www.snehalaya.org

This project in rural India works with Childline to provide emergency rescue operations and aftercare for 615 at-risk women and girls - sold into sex work, affected by HIV/AIDS and fleeing violence - each year. 'Snehalaya' meaning 'Home of Love' offers a safe exit point and full aftercare - shelter, free legal/medical/psychiatric support, education and rehabilitation ensuring sustained social change. Your donation gives an emergency safety net and long-term support to vulnerable women and girls. progress report
