Rites of Passage is a unique program for middle school students. http://www.stamfordritesofpassage.org/ For 14 weeks, we chose an extra day of school to learn about the history of Africans and their contributions to America, starting with the slave trade and ending in the 21st century. At the end of the program, we take a trip to Africa, to experience what we've learned first hand, giving us a clear understanding of the struggle of what Africans endured.
