This summer, I'll be riding from Los Angeles to New Orleans -- LA to La. -- on a Harley-Davidson Sportster. My friend Nick is riding along on a somewhat more appropriate motorcycle for the trip, so my chances of survival are slightly better when I run out of gas in the desert.
I wanted to raise funds for charity along the way and, while there are many worthy causes, none seems as desperate or in need of immediate relief as support for Ukrainians caught in the middle of the humanitarian crisis resulting from the Russian invasion of their Country. The Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will provide humanitarian assistance in impacted communities in Ukraine and surrounding regions where Ukrainian refugees have fled, with a focus on the most vulnerable, including children.
We are all in awe of the heroism and bravery Ukrainians have shown in the face of Russian aggression. Ukraine continues to prove that Russia has picked the wrong fight. We all pray for peace and, in the meantime, this is our chance to do what we can to support the innocent victims of the War.
We are wheels up in LA on June 24, but I wanted to get this fundraiser going asap, because the need is immediate and ongoing. Please consider giving what you can to this important relief fund.
