We have partnered with several organisations and NGO to support the rebuilding of the community in northern Gaza.
Displaced families are returning to find just piles of rubble and no access to water, shelter or electricity. We want to support the returning of the people to Jabalia, Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun by joining a bigger project that will provide housing, water, medical care and community services.
But the first step is access to clean drinking water. It is essential in order to re-establish a community. For this reason the priority will be the rehabilitation of a water well in Beit Lahia and the construction of a new water station between Jabalia and Beit Hanoun. These systems of water filtration and distribution will be providing 60,000 liters daily for 600 families in the area. This will be the focus of our fundraiser.
Additionally the bigger project is looking at building semi-permanent housing units, providing shelter for over 450 individuals, with priority given to disabled children, orphans, and elderly residents ad well as launching community bakeries and kitchens, creating 50 sustainable jobs for women while providing affordable meals to hundreds of households.
Finally the project will be looking at setting up fully equipped clinics capable of managing 5,000 annual patient visits, offering trauma recovery, chronic illness treatment, and maternal services.
