Wakayama 500km Charity Bike Ride

In May, I will embark on a 4-day 500 km cycling challenge in Wakayama, raising funds to support marginalized children in Japan. Those of you who know me will be well aware that I would much rather spend those four days in the pub. 500 kilometres is a long way, especially when, as in this case, there are some mountains 40% taller than Ben Nevis in the way. Based on training so far, when much shorter distances up smaller hills have left me prostrate and unable to move, really the only thing that is going to get me through this is the thought that so many kind and lovely people have donated money to the cause. I will also be doing this while looking utterly ridiculous in lycra.
Your generous donations will provide marginalized and orphaned children with transformative experiences in nature, supporting the development of confidence, resilience and problem solving abilities, among other skills that they will need once they become independent. I've already seen the impact this charity can have on young people who have been through far more than I would ever be able to cope with, and I promise you, it is a cause worth giving to.
