The hospitality investment community is deeply moved by the tragic earthquake that affected Morocco this summer. The people of Morocco have hosted our guests in a partnership that has existed for years, and we know our audience and partners are keen to demonstrate the spirit of hospitality by supporting communities affected by the earthquake.
In response, we will be raising funds at this year’s Resort and Residential Hospitality Forum (R&R) for the High Atlas Foundation (HAF), a US-Moroccan nonprofit working to supply relief and support communities in long-term reconstruction.
For more than 20 years, the High Atlas Foundation has partnered with Moroccan communities for sustainable development. This organization is well positioned to quickly deliver immediate relief that responds specifically to communities’ needs. With winter near, tents, blankets, warm clothing, and food are essential, and time is of the essence.
The High Atlas Foundation is facilitating group psychosocial therapy for recovery and social empowerment, rebuilding water systems for drinking and irrigation, strengthening and rebuilding schools and cooperatives, and providing construction materials and labor for rebuilding homes.
Through the years, HAF has impacted approximately 150,000 people with its programs, including planting more than five million organic fruit trees with farming families in all parts of Morocco.
Questex will be matching donations; we count on your generosity. Let’s give together to support the people and places of Morocco.
