Summary
With sudden takeover of Afghanistan by Taliban on August 15, 2021 who are 99.9% Pashtuns, women especially social activists are deprived all rights in all sectors and in a glance, they are marginalized. Besides of other obstacles, language disability made most of them vulnerable in a greatest extent because they do not know Pashto language – Taliban’s regime formal language, so they cannot communicate in society and the offices of the regime. If you search for Taliban team in Qatar who signed an agreement with America government, it would appear well that all Taliban team were Pashtuns and right now, those people rule Afghanistan.
Challenge
Although girls and women have long history of marginalization, globally; it is unfortunate that, the majority of Afghan women who were running and acting as social activists, are marginalized and dropout of their offices because of extreme violence of the regime and the women vulnerabilities. Language disability is one of the causes that doubles the vulnerability of women and decrease their communication abilities with society and new regime. 60% of Afghan people are non-Pashtun spoken and speak Dari or other local languages.
Solution
To engage with the new regime for women and social activists, we are going to provide Pashto language course(6 to 12 months) for non-Pashto spoken people to make them able for approaching well and communication in society. The program will cover 3000 women in 12 months
Long-Term Impact
Horizon Educational Center has designed a program of group education; that is, meant to teach and train those increasing high rate of social activist; beginning with 250 social activist Afghan women from Kabul. As a means of piloting the ongoing program at Kabul city.
