Across West Africa, thousands of young women like Aisha face the same moment every day. Many of them never find a midwife in time. Every year, complications from pregnancy and childbirth claim the lives of women across our region — many of them teenagers with dreams of finishing school, building careers, and raising families on their own terms.
The hardest part? Most of these deaths are preventable.
When a young woman has access to a trained provider, accurate information, and modern contraceptives, she gets to choose what comes next in her life. She stays in school. She plans her family. She survives childbirth. She raises healthy children.
