Summary
Two earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria early Monday morning 06 of Feb, killing more than 20,000 people and injuring thousands more. People are trapped and homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure have been destroyed under layers of rubble. The earthquake had worsened the already poor situation in Syria due to 10 years of the war. Your donation to the independent doctors association (IDA) will provide emergency relief for the most affected and vulnerable population in the North-west of Syria.
Challenge
Thousands of people are in need of shelter, food, and water in northern Syria after the world's deadliest seismic event in more than a decade. Your donation to this fund will help meet emergency needs and can close gaps in response and lead long-term recovery efforts.
Solution
IDA supports two main hospitals in the affected area, BAS Hospital which is the main referral hospital in Azaz area for general surgeries. The second Hospital is located in Afrin which also provides surgical interventions. The burden on these two main hospitals has dramatically increased as a response to the earthquake casualties resulting in lack of essential medications, medical consumables and supplies.
All donations to this fund will support Syria earthquake relief and recovery efforts. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors' immediate needs for food, fuel, medicine, heaters, and closthes.
