Social Relief for Development (SRD) is a non-profit organization working for the development of marginalized communities since 2015 in Pakistan with the help of regional offices located in Lahore (Punjab) and Quetta (Baluchistan). SRD aims to contribute in the empowerment of Pakistani Youth, Children and woman through Education, Capacity building, Skill Enhancement and Enterprise development.
We take this opportunity to introduce SRD as a one of the leading organization in the development sector of Pakistan. SRD has a rich experience of about seven years (07) working with national and International Organization PPI, Akhuwat, UCC, and Caritas Germany. Our working thematic areas are Church Engagement, Livelihood, Youth Development and Disaster Management and Our Cross Cutting Themes are Gender, Climate change, and Protection. SRD is lead partner in CATCH Consortium Project implemented in Islamabad/Rawalpindi with along with 3 implementation partners (UCC) United Council of Churches, (LTS) Life Through Sports, and (OATH) Outreach Assistance to Humanity and 40 Partner Churches. SRD facilitated 40 Partner Churches in COVID 19 Crisis Response – Humanitarian Emergency Livelihood Project in Rawalpindi and Islamabad as a lead. SRD aims to empower vulnerable and marginalized children, women, and youth in acquiring the right to education and economic opportunities to strengthen their resilience to poverty and social problems.
Pakistan is currently experiencing extremely heavy rainfall due to climate change, resulting in catastrophic flash floods across the country. According to the most recent reports from NDMA, 1033 people have lost their lives, including 456 Men, 207 women, 340 children, 1527 people have been injured. 949,858 House Damages 287,412 fully Damaged, 662446 partially Damaged, 2M acres of Crops Impacted, 719,558 Livestock, 3,541 Km Road Damages, 149 Brides and 170 shops damages.
To monitor and respond to the emergency SRD has established its Emergency Response Cell and help desk to gather information and initiate early response.
SRD is Registered under Societies Act 1860, certified from Punjab Charity Commission, and governed by executive board and supported by our strong infrastructure, adequate material resources, experienced and professional expertise and vibrant operational network, we are fully equipped to work anywhere in Pakistan. SRD has received its EAD certificate acknowledgement.
