Mayday. Mayday. Mayday. We’re calling all air transport industry runners to come and run 5k at British Irish-Airports EXPO at ExCeL London benefiting the Kyiv-based charity Tabletochki to help rescue Ukrainian Children with Cancer. At 17:30 on 22 June 2022, at the end of the first day of the show, we are staging this midsummer evening 5km charity run from the exhibition around Docklands and Royal Docks right next door to London City Airport.
Why Ukrainian Children With Cancer:
The families and children of Ukraine suffering from cancer find themselves in unimaginable torment as much of Ukraine’s precious medical and oncology infrastructure has been destroyed.
How much: (At least £50k – we already have £10k+!!)
100% of entry fees will go directly to benefit Kyiv-based Tabletochki an established child cancer charity now “helping Ukrainian children fight cancer during Russia’s cruel and unjust war”.
Who should run: ANYONE IN AVIATION, OF ANY ABILITY!!!
We ALL want to do more for Ukraine – and now you can. You don’t need to go out and fill up a silly sponsorship form, all you have to do to enter this race is pay £50 (or £20 for hardship/hard-up) and you’re done.
Too slow or lazy to run? Just donate
We’re targeting 1,000 aviation industry runners and £50,000 – the good news is that we have already amassed over £10,000 in donations from people who are too slow or lazy to run.
Paul Hogan, Event Director, British-Irish Airports EXPO: “I lost my 12-year-old daughter, Brontë, to leukaemia after everything possible had been done to save her. So I cannot possibly imagine the torment felt by the families of Ukrainian child cancer sufferers, now that much of Ukraine’s child oncology infrastructure has been wilfully destroyed.”
ENTRY FEE: £50 (£20 for hardship/hard-up)*
*We do not have a strict definition – but £50 is a fair cost for this race – all entry fees go to the charity, so please think long and hard before paying the lesser amount!
PLEASE KEEP YOUR GLOBAL GIVING RECEIPT – YOU WILL NEED THIS TO COLLECT YOUR RACE NUMBER.
