This is an initiative dubbed Shoeless Walk Initiative. An African Proverb says, *It takes the whole village to raise a child. " & I believe it takes each & everyone to create an enabling environment for early childhood development to create upright people. This is an initiative aiming to reach out to disadvantaged children in Botswana. I believe this project will assist underprivileged children reignite their hope & walk their educational journey to a brighter.
Hence the #INeedAPairAndAFuture
I believe that through this project we can restore young children's dignity affected due to poverty. The frightening reality of struggling parents in Botswana can be that of either buying food or buying shoes for the kids to go to school daily.
Thus, they have to go to school barefooted exposed to sharp objects, harmful bacteria or infections in the soil, and contaminated stagnant water and most days in Botswana it can be the burning heat on the ground. This can affect the students physiologically as they have to face peers who are wearing shoes and yet are still expected to academically excel.
We believe that no business can truly be successful in a dysfunctional society.
This commitment follows the Covid-19 pandemic which left many with a bleak economic environment due to loss of jobs, closing down & downsizing companies & an overall global increase of the prices of products and services.
SOCIAL IMPACT BENEFITS :
1.Education : to provide career guidance, to encourage students to think of & plan their future. The students can learn the power to value their abilities, talents & their education. I believe some students may drop out or not perform well in school due to lack of focus, goals & motivation.
2. Inspire:to inspire confidence to underprivileged children and boost their self esteem on their walk to a brighter academic future. I believe such will inspire educational excellence to students, students will be motivated to beat their personal best and be the best they can be in their lifetime.
