My visit in 2011 and recently October 6, 2022, to some rural communities in Imo State and some part of Ogun State affected by heavy flooding, made a lasting impression in me. The open-mindedness and joy of the people are arousing. However, I took home some negative impressions–the poor living conditions of the people in the slums, the begging children in the city, the daily struggle for the survival of the rural population.

This recent flooding in Nigeria has affected the lives of many people, and the situation is still evolving. We want to help with the immediate needs of those who have lost everything, and we hope that you will donate to our fundraiser to help them get back on their feet. Many of these families are living in shelters, which are overcrowded and unsanitary. They need food and water, medical supplies, clothing, and other necessities. They also need someone who cares enough about them to send a helping hand. Anything you can give will make a difference in their lives right now. The more people who donate, the more resources we can provide for these people's recovery efforts. We know this is not an easy thing for us as individuals—but it is something we can do with our community support. Nothing is too small; every dollar counts!

The goal of the Give succour and Refuge to the poor and homeless, a project on GlobalGiving is to provide a proactive measures to salvage 7 million Nigerians pushed below the poverty line as indicated in a recent report presented by the World Bank. Your donation can make a difference in the life of a family by providing means of livelihood. Did you know that for just $10, Samonyemaechi Foundation can help give succour and refuge to the poor and homeless. “Join me by donating $1 for every hour you (or a loved one) needed help in life. Poverty comes in all shapes and sizes, but one thing we have in common is that most of us have undergone such situations and successfully come out of it. Let’s make sure the less privileged ones are in good hand, too.”

I would be happy if you could use the [Help by sharing] button to share about my project!
