Every Child deserves to enjoy their childhood and to have a dream that can be realised. As a cancer survivor, my journey became easier because of the overwhelming support of family, friends, well wishers and strangers (who became family). The most amazing thing is the hope I found in a 10 year old boy who was going through cancer treatment too; he made me embrace the cancer journey. I looked forward to my next clinic appointments, not so much because of the treatment, but because of him. Its through my treatment journey that I met many more kids and loved their company! Along the way I realized that these kids also yearned for someone to walk with, talk to, understand them and most of all connect with other children going through the same thing. The goal of this Project is to Expand our Kids' haven in Nairobi, Kenya, where we have a kids' support forum of up to 35 kids and their caregivers. We are also in the process of establishing another Kids Haven/ Wellness and Palliative Care Center in Bujumbura, Burundi. Cancer has no boundaries and neither do we. With your support, we will be able to offer free meals and accommodation for kids and their caregivers seeking treatment in the city (in both Nairobi and Bujumbura). We will also be able to furnish both havens with toys, beds and kids materials for indoor and outdoor games. Help us give back hope and a smile to children, through creating unforgettable moments and memories through laughter, learning, playing with colors, dancing and expressing themselves as they connect with others who are going through the same journey.
