Because ALL Children Matter is building a sustainable rescue and rehabilitation center to protect street children in Kenya.
I am on the Board of Directors for Because ALL Children Matter and I was in Kenya January 2020 working with these children up close. This project is deeply tied to my heart as I have witnessed myself the cruelties that they have to face.
There are currently up to 60,000 children living on the street in Nairobi, according to the consortium of street children (CSC) Kenya. These children are living a life no human being - no child should even have to imagine.
Everyday they are facing the possibility of jail, starvation, serious health problems, and continual beatings, along with being at a very high risk for exploitation.
This project will effectively help to get 100 street children off the streets of Nairobi every year and will provide essential rehabilitative services to help them stay off the streets.
Thanks to our supporters we have already managed to purchase a beautiful 1 acre of land.
UPDATE! We have raised enough funds for our library and nursery so we are now adding our Boys Dormitory to this project! The boys dormitory will be able to have up to 20 boys living in it at any given time. By giving them a safe, secure environment they will be able to transition from street life to a healthy stable life living with us and then on their own when they are able to live on their own!
