Since the Healing and Rebuilding Our Community (HROC) program was initiated in 2002, it has continued to expand. After beginning in Rwanda and Burundi, in 2007 it entered North and South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Kenya. In 2011 we started the HROC International Trainings in Rwanda, usually twice per year. This has led to expansion to Uganda, the United States, Kinshasa (DRC), Orientale Province (DRC), Nigeria, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, and Liberia with a few additional possible countries in Africa.
As a result HROC now has many experienced facilitators. The program is now constrained by the fact that we have only a few trainers of facilitators. As the program continues to gain traction and expand, there needs to be a much larger pool of trainers of facilitators. To accomplish this HROC-International is planning on a HROC Advanced Training of Trainers. This will be held in the HROC Center in Musanze, Rwanda, from February 23 to 29, 2020. Four experienced facilitators (two women and two men) will be invited from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and North/South Kivu. Facilitators from the US, Nigeria, South Sudan, and elsewhere will be invited to send experience facilitators.
The cost of this training will be $3500. The African Great Lakes Initiative has pledged $1500 towards the cost, leaving $2000 to be raised through this GlobalGiving fundraiser. I would appreciate if you will consider contribution to this HROC Advanced Training of Trainers.
