Described as a “historic tragedy” by the nation’s Prime Minister, Category 5 Hurricane Dorian recently swept through and devastated the Bahamas, leaving the once beautiful island in ruins.
A group of Clemson University students have rallied around this issue and formed The Movement. The members are dedicated to helping share the burden of those affected by the storm. With the help from partners like Emerging Scholars, Connections and Thee Deliverance Church's Helping Hands Ministry, we are hoping to gain support, sponsorships, and donations to assist in the rehabilitation of the Bahamas. Over the course of two weeks, we will be accepting monetary and tangible donations such as non-perishables, baby formula, toiletries, diapers, wet wipes, tarps, trash bags, gloves, and air mattresses. On September 25th, 2019 we will have a “Donation Drop-Off Day”. Even though this day is dedicated to collecting items for our relief efforts, donations will be accepted starting Wednesday, September 11, 2019, and end on Friday, September 27th, 2019.
Our request to you is to join us. We are asking that you share this opportunity with your networks. We know that with your support of this movement we will be able to maximize our efforts.
Please share and repost; our next sponsor or donor could be on your timeline.
