Instead of my usual thing of racing bicycles, I'm in Kerala in southwestern India for the Malabar Rampage, one of the Rickshaw Challenges, which see teams of fools "race" each other over multiple days on motorised three-wheel rickshaws.
I’m here with three old friends – Ash, Steve and Des – and we've got two pimped-up rickshaws between us for our six-day odyssey from Trivandrum to Goa, a stretch known as the Malabar Coast. I’ll be providing regular updates on the madness which kicks off in earnest on April 7.

To add a bit of giving to this crazy, indulgent adventure with my friends I thought I’d try to raise some money for a local worthy cause. I’ve chosen “Support a Home for 25 Homeless Girls by ATMA Foundation”. This project will help to construct an urgently needed building with better facilities for 25 underprivileged girls at ATMA Gurukulam Girls' Home in Thrissur District, Kerala, India, and also support their care, boarding and education. Any donations however small will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks for reading this and hopefully for some dollars.
