As I turn another 365 days older, I will be heading into the beautiful mountainous terrain of the Kansai region to ride with the Knights In White Lycra, a 500km ride over 4 days with some very significant climbs in Wakayama. The aim is to raise awareness of the problems faced by children in care in Japan and to raise money for a charity that supports these children.
The NPO Mirai no Mori runs programmes across the country to support children's development, teamwork and leadership skills. They provide life-changing outdoor experiences for children who have been forced to live in institutions due to abuse, neglect, poverty or as orphans.
