Banco do Bebe was founded in 1997 with the aim of helping babies born at Maternidade Dr Alfredo da Costa. Today we not only help babies and their families from the Maternity Hospital but also from several hospitals and institutions in the metropolitan area of Lisbon. Through its action, it promotes the parenting skills of caregivers, empowering families with unfavorable socioeconomic factors, unsafe in their care, with fragile connection to the baby, fragile support network and / or social risk. Usually, families are monitored till they are autonomous.
