Impact NW's (INW) mission is to prevent homelessness by partnering with people as they navigate their journey to stability and opportunity. Each year, we support 20,000 low-income individuals of all ages and backgrounds to remain stably housed through comprehensive basic needs and upstream supports. Our goal to prevent homelessness is achieved through service provision that supports vulnerable households to remain housed in two primary ways: we stabilize families with immediate critical supports that keep them housed in the near-term (rental and energy assistance, transportation, food, and household items), and we strengthen families with upstream supports that seek to keep families stable in the long-term (academic enrichment, kindergarten readiness, positive parenting support, job training/placement, addiction recovery). Across all our services, we prevent homelessness by providing stabilizing and strengthening supports, which are tailored to the individualized needs and goals of the vulnerable families we serve. In doing so, we provide trauma-informed, strengths-based case management, service navigation, and skill building for the entire family. Each family participates in comprehensive support services, eliminating systemic barriers to safe, stable housing, aligned with their personal goals for success. Areas of service include: Housing & Safety Net programs serve 15,000 individuals, most with children, each year with rental/utility assistance, including eviction prevention, rapid re-housing, permanent supportive housing, addiction recovery, and pathways to health programming; Early Childhood programs provide home visiting and group services to families with young children that focus on healthy child development, positive parenting, and whole family wellness; Youth & Family programs provide school-aged children with vital basic needs, academic/enrichment opportunities, and job readiness services; and Seniors programs promote the independence of older adults and their families through transportation, case management, guardianship/conservatorship, and wellness activities. The common thread across all services is that families receive immediate and long-term services to achieve stability and opportunity in life.
