We support people to be independent, included and in control. Sense was built on the belief that with the right support, every person can communicate and thrive. With highly personalised and specialist support, we help people to build confidence, develop skills, and unlock the world around them. Our programmes: Sense works alongside disabled people with complex needs (people with two or more conditions) at every stage of life. This includes conditions such as sensory impairments, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Our services focus on what each person can do. We provide highly personalised, creative and flexible support that enables people to communicate, develop skills, build confidence, make choices and connect with their communities. Our services include early intervention and play programmes for disabled children and their families, specialist support for deafblind children, specialist education through Sense College, day and community services, supported living, and arts, sports and physical activity programmes. We also provide specialist information and guidance for individuals and their families. Alongside direct services, we undertake research, campaigning and influencing to challenge barriers, improve policy and practice, and help create a society where disabled people are connected, included and able to thrive.
