We deliver these skills, resources, and opportunities through our Career Readiness Programs, Industry Collaborative and Career Pathways events and Online Community Connections & Chapters. Our founding story: The "fourth block" represents the final mission: returning home, integrating back into society, and continuing to live meaningful lives-all while contributing to America's critical industries at a vital time in our global history. Created when our founder, Mike Abrams, met a World War II veteran who told him about his struggles returning home after battle. One morning, the veteran's uncle dragged him out of bed and got him a job at a local company-a development he credited with saving his life and giving him purpose again. The proven merits of this "job-first" philosophy inspired Mike to create FourBlock. He wanted to help transitioning veterans find their new purpose, so that they can thrive and quickly begin to have a positive impact in their communities. Fifteen years later, FourBlock is a catalyst for change. By bridging the divide between the military and business communities, we not only empower individuals to reach their full potential but also address America's workforce and connect with the industries shaping our future. FourBlock provides a new generation of talented veterans with the skills, experiences, and education that match your company's workforce needs. Our Programs: Career Pathways Events (CPE): Partnership with local industry experts in virtual CPEs to provide expert panels and networking opportunities with employers and industry leaders to help veterans better understand career options within specific industries and employment pathways, create strong relationships with employers, and build supportive relationships between participants who share lived experience and understand the challenges with transitioning to civilian life. Industry Collaborative Alliance (ICA): A Future-Ready, Innovative, and visionary alliance of impact makers that are the catalyst connecting Veterans to careers in industries leading the Future of Work. Aligned to create pathways for veterans into the industries of the future. Career Engagement Sessions (CES): An exclusive event designed to connect our newly graduated and past alumni with Spring 2025 featured partners and host employers. Employer Engagement: Alumni meet directly with leading companies in interactive breakout rooms to explore career opportunities, learn about their organizations, and ask questions. There are networking opportunities and an Alumni Engagement Room.
