Acting as a structure to represent the women who live and work in rural settings and belong to federated associations, for the efficient unity and coordination of actions representing their interests, primarily common socioeconomic and professional interests, with no distinction based on race, political opinions or religious beliefs. Demanding that administrations and public bodies put into practice political, legislative and economic measures, as well as the development of actions aimed at organising and structuring the women's groups represented, with the goal of effectively defending their interests and contributing to establishing equal working conditions and, in general, improving their quality of life. Acting as a consultative association that advances their claims with the public administrations for all topics that could affect the women's groups represented. Providing services to its federated associations. Staying in touch with all federations and unions of associations, unions and organisations in general, in any field, whose purposes are similar to those of the Federation. The core working areas on which FADEMUR'S activity is based are: 1. Equal treatment and opportunities for men and women, also in rural areas. Gender equality benefits both for men and women. It represents a beginning and end to the policies carried out in rural areas and determines the rural development model. 2. Participation and empowerment of women. Political agendas will change insofar as women participate on decision-making bodies in the political, economic and social arenas. The sustainable and sustained development of our peoples occurs because the needs, demands, proposals and solutions of the other half of the population are taken into account. 3. Foster the use of information and communication technologies. It is essential for information and knowledge to be recognised as fundamental rights and, therefore, the reduction of the gender digital divide in rural areas must be a priority. 4. Sufficient services and infrastructures in rural areas. The development of rural municipalities depends on the existence of services and infrastructures. Services and infrastructures directly affect the population's quality of life and, hence, their availability is related to the end of phenomena such as masculinisation, depopulation and ageing and, naturally, a source of employment. 5. Training-Employment. Women's financial independence is vital. This is why our association will pay attention to all the changes taking place in the production sectors, participating in the design of training programmes for women that contribute to their entrance and remaining in the labour market. In this regard, special attention is given to women who are part of groups with risk of social exclusion. 6. Intercultural relations and social cohesion. Migratory processes must be connected to sweeping worldwide causes. Speaking of and understanding the migratory process is not possible without viewing it as a structural process which involves factors which urge people to migrate (inequality, poverty, dictatorships, crises, even natural disasters, etc.) and factors encouraging people to go to certain countries (we need them and that is why they come, we have a demographic crisis and that is why they come, there is an informed market and that is why they come, they see a 'splendid' society on TV and they find it appealing). At FADEMUR we defend dignified living conditions and we are committed to the possibilities offered by rural areas so that this decent life is possible through mutual understanding and respect. 7. Eradication of gender violence. The eradication of gender violence is a top priority. Every day we speak of victims and at FADEMUR we carry out different actions related to caring for and servingthe survivors of these situations, hoping that our work represents a way out and, in parallel, an opportunity. These core areas are borne in mind in all of our association's activities. In doing our daily work, we must point out the close relationship between FADEMUR and the professional farming organisation UPA (Union de Pequenos Agricultores [Small-Scale Farmer Union]). This relationship is set out in the bylaws of both organisations, establishing the need to cooperate and work together in all those actions that help resolve the problems in the agricultural sector and the entire rural area.
