lowernine.org is dedicated to training residents and volunteers in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, LA in the numerous skills necessary to bring this century-old neighborhood back to life in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. We provide both short and long-term disaster relief and recovery in the form of food security work, home building and rebuilding, and emergency evacuations in the event of future hurricanes.
