Tai Chi in Fresno
Tai Chi in Fresno

Heal One World is excited to announce new programsat the Healthy Living Center in Los Angeles and the opening of our first affiliate space in Fresno, California. The Zen Den Studio will open on April 15th in Central Fresno. Offering Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation and self defense.  In Fresno we also have our Veterans program, teaching tai chi and meditation three times a week at the VA (Veteran's Administration), and Tai Chi and the local library.  We are very enthusiastic to serve Fresno and the Central Valley. Veterans report reduction in headaches and stress, more coordinated movement and having steadier moods.

In Los Angeles we have begun working with PATH, twice weekly yoga classes at their transitional housing complex in Mar Vista.  We still hold yoga classes at the Venice Family Clinic. We have added a new meditation class as well as Tae Bo on Saturdays.  Our new project manager MiinKay is offering cranio-sacral therapy at our studio by donation, it is a very powerful hands-on healing modality.

We had our annual Zen Den at the Sundance Film Festival as well, offering holistic healing treatments as well as yoga, tai chi and meditation.

Our 7th annual Awareness Film Festival was a large success, showcasing over 200 films in 11 days at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles.  Filmmakers attended from around the globe and Heal One World was represented before each screening. We hosted panels on mental illness, PTSD and featured the Save A Warrior foundation for veterans.  We also honored four animal activists at our dinner event. We also offered free screenings to the community. We are excited to announce our 8th annual awareness and fund-raising event will take place October 5-15th at the Regal Cinemas in Downtown Los Angeles.

Although the summer is grinding to an end, Heal One World is still working full steam ahead! In June, we held our 2nd annual Celebrate Our Neighborhood Eco & Wellness Fair at Club Union with a wonderful turnout and  demonstrations in Tae Bo, Tabata, Yoga and Meditation.

Starting in September, HOW is introducing three free new donation based classes to its schedule: a Simple Tai Chi class of Wednesdays and Saturdays, with leaders from our training, and a beginner Tae Bo class on Saturdays as well as a Spanish yoga class catering to primary spanish speakers on Sunday.

We are excited to announce a new partnership with PATH West Los Angeles where we will begin offering classes to those in transitional housing.  We wil offer both Tai Chi and Yoga.

This October from the 6th through the 16th, we will be hosting our 7th Annual Awareness Film Festival at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles! With an attendance of over 5,000 attendees last year and featuring a whopping 200 films from all corners of the earth as well as Q &A panels and conscious art & music, we’re hopping to see our attendance double this year. You of course, are invited. For more information, please visit www.awarenessfestival.org.

Also, in exciting news we have opened our 2nd branch, in the Central Valley! Fresno is now having Tai Chi and Yoga classes in partnership with HOW and the Fresno Library. Our focus is on providing non-invasive therapies, such as yoga and meditation to underserved populations. Since that time, we have expanded to serve the Central Valley by providing our non-invasive therapies to seniors, veterans, and the disabled.

We are proud to have been honored as a Finalist for the LA Business Journals Healthcare Leadership Awards 2016.  We attended the event at the Downtown LA Omni Hotel which honored many traditional health care facilities....and Heal One World!

Our next projects are expanding into Fresno to bring mindfulness to the Fresno (Central Valley) VA.  We are also closer then ever to completing our retreat space in Joshua Tree for yoga and meditation retreats.
