Ensure Continued Education of Girls

Thank you so much for all your confidence and faith in our work. We are continuously working hard to improve the lives of girls, the first step to do that is by ensuring the continued education of girls. There could not be an any better investment for a nation than ensuring their future generations get access to education.

Sanjida, a young 19-year-old from a conservative Meo Muslim community living in a small village Khilora of Alwar, always dreamt of studying and becoming independent. Sadly in her community girls aren't encouraged to study, most of them are married off at a very young age. Sanjeeda too faced a lot of pressure and resistance from her relatives and other community members for wanting to continue her studies after her 12th standard. Girls are almost always expected to treat their education, jobs, and dreams as a matter of secondary priority. They are conditioned to always feel obligated to put their ambition and dreams behind others especially if they're family. That's what happened to Sanjida too, she was on the verge of dropping out because her family couldn't afford education for two, so they chose her younger brother's education over her. That's when we identified and motivated her and her family to let her study further. Finally, with our ‘Support for Continued Education’ initiative Sanjida got access to transport and fee support facility which helped her to go back to college and continue her education. Today, Sanjida aspires to become an IAS officer. She wants to make her community proud and become a role model for other girls from her community who aren't allowed to get an education. She wishes that someday families won't have to choose who gets education.

This is just one story from the many successful people that we are working with. All thanks to our most generous supporters and well-wishers like you.

Ensure Continued Education of Girls

Scripting her own fate

Thank you so much for all your confidence and faith in our work. We are continuously working hard to improve the lives of girls, the first step to do that is by ensuring the continued education of girls. There could not be any better investment for a nation than ensuring their future generations get access to education.

Sunita was from a distant village near Ramgarh, living with her parents and three siblings. She was always keen to attend college but with hardly any money to survive, she dropped out of 12th class leaving behind the dream of education. In the morning, she would go to a nearby chemical factory with her parents to earn a living. In the evenings she would look after her siblings and learn domestic skills. We identified her and carried out regular meetings and counseling with Sunita and her parents motivating them to let her study further. Finally, with our ‘Support for Continued Education’ initiative Sunita got access to transport and fee support facility which helped her to go back to college and continue her education. Today, Sunita aspires to become an IAS officer and help other girls like her.

This is just one story from the many successful people that we are working with. All thanks to our most generous supporters and well-wishers like you. Also attached to this report is a special video of girls celebrating Teachers Day.

News:

Our team conducted 'Pravesh Utsav' (enrolment drive) and took out a rally in which over 100 girls supported under this project, participated to encourage other girls to study further. These girls were from over 15 villages and some of them would be coming to college from as far as 20 km to pursue a college education.

3 girls supported under this project - Sarla, Sakunat, and Shehruna were recently awarded as Youth Icon for their dedication and motivation under the Yuva Shakti program by the District Collector, Alwar.

We hope that these young girls keep achieving new heights of success every day.

Please note that college girls enrolled in BA programs are yet to get their results, we'll share it in our next report.
