Most farmers in a region produce a common cash crop, and we have developed an approach that gives the majority of them a chance to graduate from poverty. We measure results in terms of increases in farmers' income and cost-effectiveness as the ratio of the increases in farmer income to project cost. The ratios of increases in farmer income to cost of our projects have ranged from 4.1 to 8.68.
